Tori and Uke are in normal right handed grips position. Tori attacks Uke a throw to the front, like Uchi-Mata / Hane-Goshi. When Tori's back is against Uke's front upper body and they are both facing to the front.
Tori then places his right leg around the outside of Uke's right leg. At the same time hooking his toes around the front of Uke's ankle. (An Illegal Act in Judo as the legs of Uke and Tori are entangled and driving action of the throw has a very high risk of seriously damaging Uke's Knee (Hansoku). Tori and Uke are still facing to the front. Tori drives Uke backwards and Tori falls on top.
In the case where a player attempts Kawazu Gake, where both players whilst facing more or less in the same direction as the opponent and falling backwards onto him and even if the thrower during the throwing action twists/turns, this is forbidden and the penalty will be Hansoku Make. xxxi) To intentionally fall backwards when the other contestant is clinging to his back and when either contestant has control of the other's movement.
