The club is aimed at anyone in or around the
Harwich area young
or old it will be a fun and friendly environment that will help you to learn and
develop self confidence and control while learning an Olympic sport.

JUDO IN BRIEF:
Judo originates from Japan and although it is a
martial art it is also an Olympic sport. Judo is a contact sport where points
are awarded for throwing and holding your opponent. Through learning judo you
will improve self control, body awareness, strength and stamina while learning a
martial art in a SAFE, FUN
and FRIENDLY
environment.

LESSONS: Most lessons will
be run to motivate players and promote a friendly and enjoyable
atmosphere. The aim of the club is to
provide a safe and friendly environment where anyone can come and learn Judo
regardless of age, race, gender or ability. To help promote healthy development
within younger players and to improve and build on existing skills as well
as developing new ones.

We would ask that members 8 years old and over become
members of the BJA.

There are no
club subscription fees or
yearly subs

For your first few lessons you will need to wear loose
fitting clothes like track suit bottoms, a sweat shirt or similar. No hard
or metal objects to be worn. Judo Suits start from £16 supplied by our club
and this is with a belt We recommend that children find out if they like the
sport for a few weeks before a judo suit is purchased for them. Judo is a
close contact sport being developed from a safe form of wrestling in Japan
from the martial art of Jujitsu.
