Club News Letter June 2001

Competition On May 4^th to 7^th

members of Clacton Judo Club traveled over to the Netherlands to take part in a two day European International Contest. This was part of the youth exchange program run by the club with Dukenburg and Bushi Judo Clubs based in Ni-jmegen.

Seventeen members of the Clacton Judo Club traveled to Holland, ten of which entered into this event, which had an entrance of over 1000 judo players. Each weight group had many players; all fighting very hard to be placed in the top four of their weight groups. The small but skillful team from Clacton gave their best performance ever this year.

who all gave an excellent performance at such a very high level contest.

Ipswich Championship

On May 20^th

13 junior members of the club went to the Ipswich Championship. This event was for novice to 9^th mon and under the age of 16. All the members did extremely well and big congratulations to the members whose 1^st event it was.

In the Novice to 3rd mon group the following results were.

A Merit Badge event was held on the 26^th May. Over 50 youngsters took part.
