Alliances Golden Joy The Tendring Alliance (Kallaki, Yama Arashi Ryu and Harwich and Dovercourt Judo Clubs) struck gold again at the Ipswich Mini Mon Competition last Sunday. For many players this was their first outing representing their respective clubs, and they all triumphed. With a total medal haul of 11 medals 7 gold,1 silver 3 bronze the team coach Mark Smith said “ Their hours of training have paid off with an outstanding performance today. This team shows a lot of promise for the future, they are all looking forward to the next event in early June”.
For team members Sacarra Lee, Cerri Forster and Amber Levett it was their first competition all three players conquering their first competition nerves went on to claim a gold medal in their respective weight groups after defeating 3 more experienced competitors from bigger clubs. Becci Byde also claimed a gold medal after some hard fights and shows a lot of promise for future competitions. Three boys were also on a gold run Chris Thompson, Craig Cook and Ryan Carr all claiming gold medals in style after winning all their fights with Ippon.
Claire Gillings took silver in her weight after fighting her team mate Cerri Forster in the final of the over 70kg girls. After working through the repercharge both Daniel Gillings, Shane Satterly and Marc Beales picked up a well earnt Bronze medal.
