Why Enter Competitions and Belt Grading.
 a).    Because it gives you the chance to compete against other Judokas. 
 b).    Competitions are a good judge of your improvement in Judo.
Your first competition you may not win any contests, then after a time you may start winning one or two contests and before you know it you will be taking home Bronze, Silver  and even Gold Medals.
Competitions are run in weight groups and some also by age / belt grades. 
They also allow you to experience the enjoyment of encouraging other members of the Yama Arashi Ryu, & Tendring Judo Club's. 
 You must be prepared: -

To take part in BJA Belt Grading or Competitions:

  1).   At least 8 years old                                  
  2).  Hold a current BJA licence.  
  3).  We request’s that every member over 8 years old join the BJA. Contact any club official for details.
  4).  If you take part in contests we would like you to go to these events wearing a
       Tendring Judo Track suit.
This help’s promote a team sprit . helps us locate club members at events, to support them.
