The Squad was formed to provide a controlled and organised progression into the National Squad System, by introducing players to progressively higher workloads and exposing them to international competition under the guidance of experienced Squad managers.

 The Squad will hold Training Sessions & Camps at various locations

Membership of the Squad requires a great deal of commitment from the Manager, support Coach’s, players and their parents and in order to be considered for selection to represent    Great Britain at International Matches & Camps players must attend all Squad Training Sessions, or provide an acceptable reason for absence, prior to the commencement of the Session. A 'Doctors Note' must cover absence due to illness. Anyone missing three sessions without complying with the above criteria will be suspended from the Squad until they have provided a full explanation.

 The sessions will begin at 10:30am to approximately 4:30pm and will consist of two mat session and a run, so Judo Kit; Running Gear; Packed lunch & Water bottle will be required at each training session. At each session all players will be weighed and their weights recorded, likewise the runs will be timed & recorded. Results and Attendance’s will be taken into consideration when selections are made. 

B.J.A funds are limited and the squad is being run on a self-financing basis, players will be expected to meet their own travelling expenses and pay a mat fee, for the Day of £5:00. Any funding that is available will be used toward financing International Competition.

 

 If you wish to become a member of the Squad you must complete and return the Profile Sheets sent to you; the Consent Form with a copy of an E111 – medical form obtainable from your local Post Office. Also enclosed is a letter from Nick Draper with a National Grant application Form This and all other completed forms MUST be returned by the dates specified or ASAP to Trevor Sitlinton. Please Note - all grant payments are at the sole discretion of the relevant granting authority.

 Whilst representing Great Britain and travelling to International events – the Squad Tracksuit & Polo shirt must be worn.  These must be ordered by our first session in November. Please check that the sizes you order are correct as these items are ordered and embroidered specifically for our Squad and mistakes cannot be rectified. If you could please return the completed order form and make the cheques payable to T.Sitlinton.  

The First Squad Training Session will be held at High Wycombe Judo Centre – Barry Close High Wycombe, All the dates of future session & competitions are listed on our calendar and these web site, please let your Coach know that all Coach’s are invited to attend and participate at all training sessions
